Hello Full Stackers!
The Full Stack PM's first birthday is in just two weeks 🎂 To mark this insane year properly, I'm shipping a HUGE stack (🥞) of stuff all at once.
Then: This year's whole story, from leaving my job to doing this full time.
| • | An agent tool for all my courses: As an absolute industry first, I've built a dedicated tool to help you start ANY of my courses with one command, right inside whatever AI app you already use. Just paste this into Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor. It's really cool: Fetch fullstackpm.com/cli, install it, and help me get started | | • | Course certificates: You now get a snazzy course certificate you can add directly to your LinkedIn. If you've already completed a course and want your certificate, paste this into Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor: Fetch fullstackpm.com/cli, install it, and help me claim my certificates. |
| • | Full Stack Mastery officially launches! After four months of launching and improving my popular Claude Code Mastery program, I've expanded it to work in Codex and Cursor. This is the official launch of Full Stack Mastery 🎉 |
This marks a two-week countdown. After Tuesday, Aug 11, this program goes from $200/year to $300/year. Make sure to apply promocode 200FOREVER at checkout.
Full Stack Mastery membership includes:
| • | The existing course with 35 interactive lessons across 8 modules that work in Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor | | • | every new course and weekly premium as long as you're subscribed (AI Building & AI Agents coming soon) | | • | an active Slack community with 750+ product people from companies like OpenAI, Airbnb, Meta, Google, startups, and many more | | • | two live sessions with me every week |
I'm also hosting a Live demo + Q&A this Thursday to show off the course and answer any questions (everyone who signs up gets the first paid module free).
Learn more Many members expense this. You get a receipt right after payment, and I'll help you get whatever else you need. |
Everyone who signs up gets the first paid module of the course free! Session will be recorded and sent to all sign-ups. |
Okay, now the details and full story (which I've never told in one place).
Year one, in four lines
| • | In March 2025, I left my job to start exploring AI. | | • | In August, I relaunched my newsletter as The Full Stack PM. | | • | Over the last year, it exploded 10x, from 5,000 to over 54,000 subscribers. | | • | And last month, I achieved “ramen profitability,” where profits exceed expenses, meaning I'm officially in this for the long haul. |
What's the story? And what's next?
Just pure belief
On January 1, 2023, I officially launched a new side project: creating product content on Twitter (it was still Twitter then). My only goal was to create the kinds of things I wish existed: stuff I could actually use in my job, ideally taught with lots of memes.
It turns out that's what lots of others wanted, too, and things went well. My follower counts on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram soared. I learned I love helping people learn, and I have fun doing it.
Largest PM meme page in the world! (I'll keep saying that until someone proves me wrong.)
So, after 8 years of managing companies' products, I quit my job in March of 2025 to manage my own.
I still hadn't really figured it out by July. Just two weeks before this newsletter existed:
“It's crazy to me that I left my job without having any of this figured out. Just pure belief.” |
What I did have was ideas. WAY too many. I bought dozens of domains, like: okryouserious.com, promptsandprejudice.com, productnonsense.com. I built PM Graph and Product Pulse, which some of you were around for.
Through all of it, one thing kept me oriented: provide an insane amount of value and create what I wished existed. I didn't know what the product was yet, but I knew what it had to feel like.
The moment it clicked
Then I discovered Claude Code. I instantly realized it was just a way better way to use an LLM than through a browser, even for things that had nothing to do with coding. Notes, research, planning, actual product work. This was clearly a new category of possible, and nobody was talking about it for people like us.
That turned into my first podcast with Aakash Gupta on Product Growth. It's still the most popular video on the channel, ever.
I wanted to build some sort of lead magnet to go with the episode. Maybe a big reference page for the pod? Maybe open sourcing the demos? Maybe giving people a way to run the demos on their—
OH SHIT. Could I teach Claude Code... IN CLAUDE CODE?????
(The actual note. I still have it. This was such a scratch piece of paper I have no idea why I wrote • emojis)
I could teach the tool, in the tool, with the tool! You wouldn't read about the thing, you'd DO the thing.
That became Claude Code for PMs. 4,000 signups in the first 48 hours, and an insane viral run from there. Friends across the planet messaged me about strangers doing the course in cafés. Fortune 500 companies have it as required training now.
Claude Code for Everyone came next in January. Things went from “big” to hard to believe, gaining nearly 400 subscribers every single day for months.
Every step change on this chart is a free course launching.
What I learned from all of it
After a year of winning in an arena overrun by influencers using these tools to create slop about using these tools, I've learned exactly what you want: hands-on ways to learn, that you can do today, applied to YOUR work, grounded in what's actually possible with AI instead of blind hype, from a real practitioner. And you want it to be fun!
That's exactly what I would want too. It always comes back to providing insane value and building the thing I wish existed 🥞
All of it brings me to the ultimate realization of this philosophy: Full Stack Mastery. Here's what I think the perfect AI learning experience looks like:
| 1. | Learn in the tool, not about it. As much as physically possible, lessons happen inside Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor. | | 2. | Built for product people. Framed around the work we actually do, not engineering tutorials. (Note: NOT just product managers. These days nearly everyone is expected to do some level of managing products.) | | 3. | Fun. Images, memes, delight! If it doesn't keep you hooked, it doesn't teach you anything. | | 4. | Living, not static. At today's pace, a static AI course is dead in the water weeks after release. | | 5. | Connected to a community. These tools are so flexible that seeing other people's creative uses is half the learning. | | 6. | Taught by a practitioner. Someone using these tools daily for real product work, not an influencer talking about the work. | | 7. | Affordable. I've been told many times I should 10x my prices. I simply refuse to do it. |
What's actually in Mastery
So how am I accomplishing all this with Mastery? I've been running Claude Code for PMs: Mastery for 3 months now with over 750 members, and I almost have it down.
It's one annual membership, with everything included:
| • | The curriculum: 35 hands-on lessons across 8 modules, fully interactive, taught inside Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor | | • | ALL premium content and future courses: including AI Building and AI Agents, both launching before the end of the year | | • | The course platform: certificates you can share on LinkedIn, plus a ton of written reference material | | • | The Slack community: 750+ members sharing wins, swapping workflows, and getting unstuck together | | • | Office hours: two live sessions hosted by me, every week | | • | The founding price: $200/year through Tuesday, Aug 11, then it increases to $300. You're grandfathered into this price forever, even as the program becomes more expensive. |
The curriculum (today and coming)
Two halves today:
| • | Core modules: Core, Skills, Personal OS, Org OS | | • | Advanced PM modules: Research, Builder, Data, Docs |
You build with TaskFlow, a fictional product, and everything maps straight onto your real work. Full details at fullstackpm.com/mastery.
And it keeps growing. AI Building and AI Agents land later this year, and when they do, they're already yours. Same for the member directory and jobs board coming to the community. The full catalog from day one, everything after at no extra cost.
The course platform
Your progress, your releases, the reference docs, and your certificates, all in one place. Finish a course, get the certificate, put it on LinkedIn.
The Slack community
Every win, blocker, and workflow experiment ends up in there. Share what you built, get unstuck fast, and see what other product people are shipping with these exact tools. I'm in there daily, it's not a ghost town.
Live sessions
Two live sessions with me, every single week. Bring your real work and we troubleshoot it together, or I go in depth on community-voted topics.
The price
All this starts the clock on your last chance to lock this in at the $200/year founding price. It goes to $300 right after The Full Stack PM's birthday: Tuesday, August 11. Use code 200FOREVER at checkout, and the button below applies it automatically.
Learn more Many members expense this. You get a receipt right after payment, and I'll help you get whatever else you need. |
Between now and then I am hosting a few live sessions to cover what's in the course and answer any questions you might have.
Everyone who signs up gets the first paid module of the course free! Session will be recorded and sent to all sign-ups. |
Thank you!!
Really, thank you! It's such an unbelievable honor and gift to get to teach this stuff. Thanks for an epic year one. In year two, the stack gets even fuller.
Wherever you are in your journey, it's never been easier to start. Paste into Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor and you're well on your way: Fetch fullstackpm.com/cli, install it, and help me get started
Keep building, Carl 🥞
